As the vice president (designate president) of Asian Academy of Preventive Dentistry (AAPD) and the chair of Local Organising Committee of the 19th International Conference of AAPD (AAPD 2027), I sincerely welcome you to attend this conference which has a slogan of “Preventive Oral Care for Better Global Health” and will be held in the Friendship Hotel, Beijing, from September 16th to 18th in 2027.
Beijing, the capital of People’s Republic of China, had hosted the 4th and 11th International Conference of AAPD in 2000 and 2014, respectively. Now, after 13 years passed, the conference will come back to Beijing again. These two decades have seen booming economy and prosperity of modern China, as well as development of preventive dentistry and progress of oral health care all over the Asia. This conference attracts professionals and talents in this field and promotes wider and deeper collaborations among different countries / regions and universities / colleges, becoming an indispensable platform for academic communications.
Given the close relationship between oral health and systemic health, preventive oral care becomes a quite important part of global health promotion. To that end, we invite outstanding experts and well-known scientists internationally to give academic presentations and make discussions during the three days here, so as to exhibit a variety of research findings and cuttingedge progresses in preventive dentistry and dental public health in the era of globalisation.
The host city, Beijing, has a long history with culture of great splendour. You can visit places of interest such as the Forbidden City, the Heaven Temple, the Summer Palace, the Old Summer Palace, the Great wall, etc.; historical and cultural blocks such as the South Gongs & Drums Lane, the Grand Fence, etc.; and modern architectural projects such as the Birds’ Nest (National Stadium), the Water Cube (National Swimming Centre), the Universal Studios, etc. A plenty of heritages from ancient times and fire-new modern buildings are blended here, yielding sparks of collision continuously. We warmly welcome you come to Beijing in this golden autumn in the Year of Sheep to experience the intertwinement of historical remains and modern civilization, as well as to enjoy the fusion of a thousand-year ancient capital and a modernised metropolis. We look forward to achieving a great success for the 19th International Conference of AAPD!
